Springtime Sheep Shearing (New Date)

**UPDATE as of Thursday, April 5: Sheep shearing has been RESCHEDULED due to possible rain on Saturday 4/7. It is now scheduled for Saturday 4/28.***

Each Spring, the flock of Shetland sheep at the L.A. Zoo must have their wool sheared to prevent overheating in the warmer months. See these animals receive their annual haircut from Trevor Hollenback of Hollenback Shearing at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. Young visitors can learn how to care for and groom goats and sheep at educational activity stations. TheSouthern California Handweaver’s Guild will also be demonstrating weaving methods for different types of fabrics and fibers, including wool from the sheep at the Zoo.
