Explore a previously off-limits part of the Zoo, now teeming with 17 moving, roaring, snarling, claw-bearing dinosaurs “brought back to life” for a limited time. Along the way, unlock special content and 3D animations through a custom app (available for iPhone and Android devices soon), indulge your inner paleontologist by joining a fossil dig, and learn how the mighty creatures of the Mesozoic era compare with animals of today.

L A ZOO HAS A NEW EXHIBIT, 65 MILLION YEARS IN THE MAKING
A different kind of animal is coming to the Zoo: dinosaurs. For a limited time, ferocious, magnificent creatures of the mighty Mesozoic era will be “unextinct” —brought “back to life” in a previously off-limits corner of the L.A. Zoo.
Come face-to-face with 17 life-size, lifelike animatronic dinosaurs on an adventure that also includes photo ops—for the ultimate #SelfieSaurus—and a fossil dig, where you’ll experience what it’s like to discover and interpret clues about these long-gone giants.
The special exhibit also includes 3D “augmented reality” content that can be unlocked on your smartphone through the Dinosaurs: Unextinct at the L.A. Zoo app, which will be available for download onto iPhone and Android devices soon.
This adventure isn’t just about traveling to the past—it’s also about life on Earth in the present day. Modern animals share a host of similarities with dinosaurs, including the threat of extinction. You’ll learn fascinating connections between dinos and Zoo residents, as well as ways you can join efforts to end extinction.
