Our planet deserves more than just one day: the Los Angeles Zoo celebrates Earth Day over four weekends, with activities, fun and information that all spotlight the importance of protecting the environment and its creatures.

Though some added features are available daily, most Wild for the Planet activities take place on Saturdays and Sundays.

Weekend Highlights include:

“Zoolabrate" performances 11am, 1:30pm, 3pm
Special animal feedings and zoo keeper talks underscoring conservation 1 and 2 pm
Conservation Stations throughout the grounds spotlighting efforts to protect and restore species in the Zoo’s care interactive Swazzle puppet show, starring environmental superhero Ricky Raccoon 10:30 am, 12 pm and 2:30 pm. (The “Rascal the Raccoon" character makes special appearances each weekend.)

Opening weekend features fun and games from Disneynature’s “BORN IN CHINA" to connect visitors with animals in the Zoo’s care that are native to China such as snow leopards, which are featured prominently in the film.

The first and last weekends feature an Earth Expo with vendors and organizations emphasizing local conservation efforts for the planet and animals. (The middle weekends offer similar mobile stations).

Guests are encouraged to participate in the L.A. Zoo’s electronic device recycling program by contributing a retired cell phone, smartphone, iPod, iPad, tablet or MP3 player.

All activities are included with paid Zoo admission.
