為什麼一隻長得醜、走得慢的毛毛蟲，能蛻變成美麗又會飛的蝴蝶？大自然的奧妙不是書本的解說可以講得透的，最好的學習當然是親自參與和實驗～～透過自由教育活動，將毛毛蟲放入飼養箱飼養，並觀察記錄毛毛蟲如何蛻變成美麗的蝴蝶，這個過程一定會讓小朋友對蝴蝶的生長留下極深刻的印象。

在4月22及23日，大家可以將羽化成的蝴蝶帶回館中，將牠們帶回大自然環境，這將是一個不容錯過的學習與體驗喔～～

The 2017 Butterfly Season is in full bloom at the Kidspace Museum in Pasadena from March 11 through April 23. Bring your kids to Kidspace and adopt a caterpillar,  and observe in your very own eyes the process of its transformation into a beautiful butterfly. What a wonderful hands-on learning experience for the kids!

Caterpillar Adoption Days – March 11 to April 23

Witness the magic of metamorphosis by adopting a Painted Lady Caterpillar during Kidspace’s Butterfly Season. Your caterpillar, its food, and care guide will be $4.50 in the Busy Bee Learning Store, or $18.99 for a cup of 5 caterpillars.

We will receive newly hatched caterpillars each week during Butterfly Season. Sales are while supplies last on a weekly basis.

Caterpillars will be available in the Busy Bee Learning Store. There are no holds and no shipping. Please call one week ahead with requests of purchasing 30 or more caterpillars.

Grand Butterfly Release – April 22 & 23

Each day, we will release over 700 butterflies from the Stone Hollow Amphitheater.

Guests are welcome to bring their own adopted butterflies to release with us.

Enjoy special activities to learn about and celebrate the life cycle of our small, winged friends: Visit “Butterfly World” to imagine you are a butterfly, paint en Plien Air with live butterfly inspiration, make Butterfly Puddlers and Butterfly Feeders to help support the life cycle of the butterfly.

On that weekend, Just Kidding Music Group will perform starting at 1:30pm and countdown to our release at 2:00pm. Please arrive early to enjoy all of the day’s activities and to avoid admission lines.
