What do kids want for the holidays? a new toy? more books? or it could be something that completely surprises you. This holiday, share with us your child’s writing about his/her holiday wish, and let us find together the deep-rooted spirit of holiday before the “attack” of commercial and consumerism.
To make it even better, we will add in a special ticket giveaway for the holidays - - send us your childs essay before 12/28 9pm and we will randomly pick a lucky entrant to win a pair of tickets to see the beautiful Rose Parade floats after the parade at Victory Park on January 1, 2014, including the absolutely gorgeous new float presented by our good friend Singpoli Group ~~ Connecting Cultures, Delivering Dreams

Here are two of our talented young writers' essays about their Christmas Wishes. Kerra is only 8 years old but she has a big heart (and amazing talent in writing):

Christmas Wishes

Christmas is an important time. I have three wishes that do not cost money.
One wish is that I would have more friends. I want more friends because good friends would play with me. Friends are good to have because with no friends I feel dejected.
Another wish is to have a happy family. When my family is happy, they are more likely to play with me. When they are happy, they won’t shout. If my family is happy when we play together it would be more fun than when they aren’t happy.
My last wish is for no bullies at my school. When there are no bullies students would be happier because they would not get hurt or be made fun of. And when there aren’t any more bullies people wouldn’t get hurt.
I hope that these wishes come true. I want these wishes to come true because I do not like bullies and I like my family to be happy and more friends for me is better than less friends.
