It is so easy to make your own homemade version of ice pack, there is no need to spend money to buy one any more!
Recipe:
- Plastic Freezer bags (up to 1 gallon size)
- Water
- Rubbing Alcohol
Directions:
- Add water and alcohol to a freezer bag in a ratio of 3:1 (3 parts water to 1 part rubbing alcohol)
- Add more alcohol if you want a slushier cold pack.
- Cold packs can be stored in the freezer up to one month.
- Use double baggies for leakage control.
- The cold pack will conform to any body area because the rubbing alcohol prevents the water from completely freezing.
- ask your kid to decorate it with a sharpie pen or lots of stickers
- make sure the skin is covered with a towel prior to application.
- An unopened frozen bag of peas, corn, or blueberries is another fast way to apply a cold pack to an injured area.
