BRAVE  勇敢傳說

丫丫一家人都是 PIXAR的超級粉絲，所以這次也是抱著很高的期望入場，而觀後的感覺是，雖然整體的成績仍是非常出眾，可是相比起Toy Story, Finding Nemo, or WALL-E， 電影像是缺乏來某種神采。主角梅里達公主的年輕叛逆和衝動所造成她與母后的衝突竟在短短兩天內就得以解決，而且對蘇格蘭的傳統文化的描述也是浮光略影為主；

雖然公主的高強箭術和聰慧讓她大大加分，可是作為天下小女孩的榜樣，我們總希望能對她的成長和心路歷程能有更多的探討和描寫。在此之前，大部分電影的主人翁都不是人類（玩具，機器人，汽車或魚類等），這次嘗試接觸歷史和文化的主題，似乎讓碰上了一個小難題。

可以在電影后和孩子討論的建議話題：  

> 梅里達公主是個什麼樣的公主​​？她與其他迪士尼公主有何不同？她的故事和這些公主的有什麼相同和不同之處？

> 這套公主電影沒有浪漫愛情的成分，反而將主線放在母女關係上，你認為這會更吸引更多觀眾嗎？

About the theatre:

El Capitan Theatre is a fully restored movie palace owned by Pacific Theatres and operated by the Walt Disney Company.  Originally opened in 1926, it was renovated in 1942 and re-opened in 1991.  

The theatre features a giant Wurlitzer Theatre organ originally installed in San Francisco's Fox Theatre in 1929.   Next door is the adjacent Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store, where you can purchase ice cream themed to the film currently playing in the cinema next door. A wide variety of Disney and movie merchandise is available there.

Story 

Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman are still trying to get back to the Big Apple and their beloved Central Park zoo, but first they need to find the penguins. They travel to Monte Carlo where they attract the attention of Animal Control after gate crashing a party and are joined by the penguins, King Julian and Co., the monkeys and a new arrival: a performing llama. How do a lion, zebra, hippo, giraffe, four penguins, two monkeys, three lemurs and a llama travel through Europe without attracting attention? They join a traveling circus.

What parents need to know 

Parents need to know that, like its two predecessors, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wantedis appropriate for virtually the whole family. There's little questionable material here, although some parents may notice a couple of innuendos, some threats and dart-gun attacks, and one almost-curse word ("Bolshevik" is made to sound like "bull---t"). On the plus side, kids might learn a thing or two about the circus and European destinations like Paris, Rome, and Monte Carlo. As always, Madagascar 3 boils down to the central relationship between the four main zoo animals, and, like the others, the third movie makes sure kids know how important it is to have unconditional friends.

Is it any good?

Usually third (and fourth and fifth) follow-ups to a popular animated franchise are less exciting than their original films, but Madgascar 3 is a colorful, funny, globe-trotting tale. Yes, it might have a thin plot, but it makes up for that with fabulously flamboyant visuals and memorable new characters -- not to mention an over-the-top villain in Captain DuBois. McDormand is hilarious as the cleverly written animal catcher. In one of the movie's highlights, she belts out an Edith Piaf-esque torch song that leaves everyone around her with smudged mascara (even the men). With a sad backstory of loss and insecurity, Cranston's Russian tiger is one of the more complicated characters in the series, while Martin Short's sea lion is a source of continuous comic relief. . . click for full article from Common Sense Media.
