La JaJa Kids attended the sneak preview of The Adventures of Tintin. We give it a BIG Thumbs Up -- Tintin is intrepid and smart and his dog Snowy is absolutely adorable. Watching it with our 3-D glasses and experiencing this rollicking, energetic stop-motion animation extravaganza from producer Peter Jackson and director Steven Spielberg was one fantastic experience.
The Adventures of Tintin opens here on Dec. 21st. The film is already a hit in Europe, where the Belgian artist Hergé's comic series upon which the film is based is a childhood staple. Tintin is a boy reporter and sleuth, and although the mystery he unravels in this story is ever-so slightly confusing, it's a thrill ride in the hands of masters -- involving boats tossing on the high seas, a treacherous airplane ride through a lightning storm, a crossing of the Sahara, and an exciting motorcycle chase through a Moroccan city.
The sheer scope of the film production itself is a marvel, from the incredible motion capture technique to the extensive animation done in post-production - you won't quite know what you're seeing.
