Award-winning Hong Kong film director Can To’s Home of My Heart will be screened at the Chinese Family History Group of Southern California’s April 22 meeting. The 45-minute documentary film will be presented with Chinese and English subtitles. Commentary for the film will be provided by Munson Kwok,

Home of My Heart tells the story of Melody Chan, a young woman determined to preserve the home of her ancestors; a place on the brink of drastic changes. Melody’s journey takes her from Hong Kong to San Francisco and then back again to Hong Kong. The journey begins in Taishan; a small region in Guangdong Province known for the large number of immigrants to the United States during the 19th century. The film tells the story of one great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter’s path
to finding her roots.
