Brea celebrates its first hundred years with a parade and picnic.

9am  Centennial Parade

The Parade Route marches down Birch Street to the Sports Park. Participants include members of the USC Trojan Marching Band, the horse-drawn Wells Fargo Stagecoach, and the 501st Legion/Southern California Garrison Star Wars Group, as well as a rich mix of classic cars, musicians, animals,community groups and schools, and local personalities. The parade marshals are actress Andrea Barber, (“Kimmy Gibbler” from Full House and Fuller House) and Brea’s own baseball legends, Randy Jones (San Diego Padres) and Charlie Hough (LA Dodgers,Texas Rangers.) 

The parade leads to Sports Park, where a Centennial Picnic begins at 11am. Families are invited to enjoy food, entertainment, games and community fun.   Highlights of the picnic include live musical performances, acrobats, a classic car show, games and a children’s petting zoo. There will also be several baseball games, including a re-enactment of the legendary Babe Ruth vs. Walter Johnson Brea exhibition match-up that took place in Brea in 1924.
