Art Without Walls: Togetherness Café

Saturday, March 30, 2–4 p.m. (Off-site: Felipe de Neve Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library; 2820 W. 6th Street, Los AngelesCA 90057)

Sunday, March 31, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. (Hammer Museum)

What meals bring your family together? Re-create your favorite dish out of clay and other materials, taking inspiration from artist Allen Ruppersberg, then write a recipe for togetherness. Recipes created at the Hammer and the library will be combined into a single digital book. Led by artist Teresita De la Torre.

ART WITHOUT WALLS

Copresented by the Felipe de Neve Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library

Families create art inspired by social justice issues, literature, and Hammer exhibitions. The same activities are offered at each site. The Hammer program includes storytelling in the galleries. The library program is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Recommended for children ages 5+, teens, and grownups.

ATTENDING THIS PROGRAM?

Ticketing: This free program is not ticketed.  
Parking: 
Parking is available under the museum. Rates are $7 for the first three hours with museum validation, and $3 for each additional 20 minutes, with a $20 daily maximum. There is a $7 flat rate after 6 p.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends. Cash only.
Restaurant: Enjoy a meal or drink before or after the program at our restaurant Audrey. The restaurant is open 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Tuesday–Saturday and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday. Members and UCLA students receive 10% off.
