Vendors line both sides of Abbot Kinney at the 35th annual Abbot Kinney Festival – many with a decidedly Green edge (this is Venice, after all).

An eclectic range of musicians is scheduled to perform on stages up and down the mile-long stretch, and food trucks aplenty satisfy every gastronomical whim.

The Festival kicks off with a Family Parade at 9:45am, to the Samba-Reggae beat of Samba da Mudanca and Sandra Sandia. The parade begins at California Ave, then makes its way to the KidsQuad, (at Main Street).

The Kidsquad offers a range of fun activities.  There, kids can climb a rock wall, create works of art, listen to kid-friendly music, enjoy bouncy slides and a surf simulator,  go on treasure hunts, get glitter tattoos and make tie-dye t-shirts

Games and activities in KidsQuad require 2 to 5 tickets.  Tickets are $1 each / $20 for 25.  Unlimited wristbands are $100 at the festival, $90 pre-sale.

Parking:  street parking or various public and private lots. Given the expected crowds, public transportation might be a better alternative.
