3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!  Join Discovery Cube at The Boeing Company in Huntington Beach on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the annual Rocket Launch competition! This free community event is full of hands-on activities and fun for all ages. Just bring an empty 2-litter bottle and your imagination and transform that bottle into your very own rocket.  Engineers from The Boeing Company will be on campus offering design and engineering tips.

Once your bottle rocket is ready to compete, we will prepare it for launch by adding water and pressurized air. Rockets with the longest “hang time” will be awarded prizes!

Supplies/Building Materials Provided by the Cube:

• Foam core material for fins
• String
• Snow cone cups
• Tape
• Scissors
• Plastic bags for parachute materials
