walk-3On Sunday, November 6th, 10,000 members of our community will unite in the fight against women’s cancers at the 20th Anniversary Walk for Hope. Join us for a 5K/2K walk at the City of Hope campus for an unforgettable day of celebration and fun.

We all know someone whose life has been affected by breast and/or gynecologic cancers. These are the women we love: our grandmothers, mothers, daughters, wives, sisters and our best friends. Think about the women in your life. Join Walk for Hope and be part of a movement to help them live longer, healthier lives.

City of Hope is leading the fight against cancers unique to women through research, treatment and education. Your commitment to Walk for Hope will support City of Hope’s efforts to push the boundaries of science to advance research and treatments on behalf of women everywhere.

癌症是造成亞裔美國人死亡的最主要原因，2012年有超過兩成七的亞裔美國人的死亡原因與癌症有關。

根據美國癌症協會所提供的最新數據，大約每三個亞裔美國人中就有一人會在一生中某個時期被診斷為癌症患者。

「希望之城」的癌症倖存者董亞歷（Alex Tung，圖左）是來自中國移民單親家庭中的獨子，在不到40歲時被診斷患有一種少見的白血病，需要骨髓移植。

在經過半年找尋適當骨髓捐贈者的努力落空時，決定加入希望之城改用臍帶血幹細胞進行治療的臨床試驗。如今他的癌症得到緩解已經超過一年。

董亞歷說，希望之城的每個人和每件事都全心意以對抗癌症，延續生命為唯一目標。

醫師能講中文，他正從移植手術中復原，是希望之城如何照顧病患的見證。他感謝希望之城，讓他還活在人間。他和希望之城維持緊密的關係，經常出席社區活動，分享他的成功經驗。

希望之城創立於1913年，是癌症、糖尿病和其他致命疾病的獨立研究和治療中心；獲得全美癌症研究所（NCI）最高認可，被指定為綜合癌症中心，也是國立全面癌症網絡促進全國研究治療方法的創始成員。
