“Mathemagician” Dr. Arthur T. Benjamin is an American mathematician who specializes in combinatorics, a professor of mathematics at Harvey Mudd College, but he is best known for is superior mental math capabilities and “Mathemagics” performances in front of live audiences. His mathematical abilities have been highlighted in newspaper and magazine articles, at TED Talks and on the Colbert Report. He published many books and DVDs to help people, including children, to enter the captivating and magical world of mathematics.
Last Tuesday, 3 of our Junior Journalists attended one of Dr. Benjamin’s seminar tours at the Arcadia Library, and among a full house of fans and admirers, they were able to sit down with Dr. B for an intimate moment of interview.

My evening with Dr. Benjamin was really awesome. Jaslyne, Sharonlen and I saw Dr. Benjamin perform math magic at the Arcadia Library on September 8th. We then got to interview him at the end. It was an event sponsored by the Friends of Arcadia Library. The library set aside some money they earned from their bookstore and donations to host the event.
